Frequently Asked Questions

Q      Will this affect the manufacturer’s warranty of the engine?

A      No manufacturer will void warranty because of an aftermarket product, they may say if a

Product causes damage to the engine their warranty will not cover it.

Unlike Natural gas and Propane no modifications are made to the engine’ the H.D.T.I. unit

Only adds fractional amounts of Oxygen and Hydrogen to the air intake and all units have

                   product liability insurance

Q      What changes. are made to install this product?

A      A hose carrying the Oxygen, Hydrogen gas is installed at the air filter and wires are attached to

the battery for powering the unit.

Q      How much power will the unit draw?

A       The SV unit handles engines up to 7 liters and draws 5-7 amps, the LV unit handles engines

Up to 15 liters and draws13-16 amps

Q       How often do you add steam distilled water?

A        Every 25-50 hours, depending on the reservoir size. In some cases a 45 litre drum can be used

Q       How often do you add electrolyte?

A       Never, this is a true catalyst with only the distilled water being consumed during the reaction

Q      What happens in the winter?

A      The electrolyte won’t freeze at -60 C, there is a quick connect on the water reservoir allowing

                    removal for overnight or thawing.

Q      Can anyone install this unit?

A       No, a trained technician or mechanic should oversee the installation.

Q        Hydrogen is an explosive gas how can it be safe?

A        The H.D.T.I. product is built to pressure vessel standards with ultra high molecular weight

polyethylene, nickel and stainless steel parts. Hydrogen is never stored in our system and is

therefore, very safe within our designed parameters.

Q     Will this product help meet government green house gas targets and reduce emissions.

A      Yes, some targets will be surpassed and particulate matter will be reduced by 50 to 70%

Q       Will this product reduce the greenhouse gas effect?

A        Yes the H.D.T.I. unit will not only reduce emissions through more complete combustion,

but the energy from this better combustion will cause a decrease in fuel consumption.

Q        What fuels  can this product work with?

A        Any four stroke engine using hydrocarbon fuel will get the benefits of using the H.D.T.I. unit

Q        Will this product increase my fuel economy and by how much?

A         Yes depending on the type of fuel and engine age results will vary.

Q         How will the H.D.T.I. unit extend oil change intervals and clean the engine over time.

A          By enhancing the combustion process with Hydrogen and Oxygen parts of the fuel chain not

usually burnt that cause smell and soot are. This keeps the engine cleaner and reduces

Carbon build up in the oil and engine components like EGR Valves.

Q          Will this product repair of fix worn out engines?

A           No, the H.D.T.I. unit will not fix engines, but it will enhance the combustion process of any

                         maintained engine.

Q           Ballard power systems is already using Hydrogen. Is your product similar?

A          No, the Ballard fuel cells require Hydrogen as a fuel and then produces electricity. There are no

Hydrogen gas stations today and the H.D.T.I. manufactures the Hydrogen and Oxygen gas used

to enhance the combustion process from distilled water.
